Back at you for another session of our monthly gig in downtown Toronto, we'll have two rooms of loungy sitting/standing space with the patio open all night.
Residents Nathan Lee and Abdul Smooth will be dropping an eclectic selection of beats alongside special guest DJs Shingo and Urbansteve from Toronto's own Hotsauce Crew!

Hey y'all - thanks to all who joined us last Friday for our monthly gig @ Tequila Bookworm in Toronto! A very fun mellow night we had; it was nice to be able to jam with you all and actually get around from the decks to dance for a bit :)

This Friday we're live in Toronto at our Tequila monthly
Now 4 months deep, our monthly gig at Tequila Bookworm in Toronto is happening again this Friday to finish July off with a bang!
As usual, the party will be a chilled-out affair; the space has two main rooms to lounge in and an open-air back terasse.
On the wheels of steel will be resident DJs Abdul Smooth & Nathan Lee and we may just have a guest artist dropping by :)

Ninjatune celebrates 20 years with free weekly music downloads!
I can't believe its been 20 years since Matt Black and Jonathen Moore founded Ninjatune. This single record label's international influence on the development of electronic music as we know it today cannot be understated and 20 years in business is indeed cause for celebration!
For the occasion I'll be spinning up a 20 year retrospective of the label soon and pulling out some dusty vinyl to throw into the mix with fresh digital dubplates from the label.
Until the podcast is up, and until the campaign stops on September 10, 2010, I suggest heading over to the special anniversary website and grabbing the weekly free digital downloads of this epic label's selected releases.
Our 24hr Radio Stream is live (and free!)
Some of you may remember that we started this project about a year ago with an online radio stream with hundreds of hours of amazing electronic music played somewhat randomly. Since then we took the stream offline to relaunch it as Electronica FM (http://electronica.fm) - and highly recommend you listen to it [every day].
Now that we're pumping out new episodes of our podcast all the time, and will be featuring guest mixes from DJs we love , we thought to re-launch Peopledowntown Radio as a 24hr stream mixing up all of our podcast episodes randomly. So, the stream is live! You can tune in with the links on the right hand side of our site.

We hosted a gorgeous #patiofriday on May 28 on the second floor of Tequila Bookworm. Sun and conversation turned to a sundown island vibe as we set up the decks and proceed to infuse the patio with good music from 8:30p to 3:00a. We'll be doing the same this June 26 and invite you to join us on this great Toronto patio, tucked away at the back of the 2nd floor of Tequila Bookworm.
So, get ready to finish up the week and head over to come join us for special live sundowner DJ sets and beats into the night.

Canadian Livers in Training - pre-SXSW gig
An annual tradition has sprung up recently in Toronto - people gather for a night of debaucherous partying before heading down to Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival which is held every March.
The event is happening on Friday March 5th and is called CanLIT... no, its got nothing to do with literature but rather is an acronym meaning 'Canadian Livers in Training.' The People Downtown will be spinning beats and we'll also be heading down to SXSW - so stay tuned to this blog for info on where to catch us should be be hitting the decks whilst in Texas.
