Podcast 019: nathan lee's blast off! live mix from august 27, 2010

Podcast 019 badge.

Hey, so I felt like making some noise. That's okay, right? Well, the set gets back to more standard fair after the second track.

Recorded live from 10:00p to 11:00p at August's Tequila Monthly. This month I was really focused on vocals after two months of light on the vocals house sets. And of course all smash hits from 2010! Enjoy!

This one’s going to be great to listen to while you’re working (well, while I’m working; I shouldn’t speak for you). Consistent and light on the vocals. Enjoy!

podcast 013: nathan lee's ready to move live mix from july 30, 2010

Podcast 013.

What a beautiful night out last night. And great company as always as our Tequila Monthly, friends and strangers alike. Tequila Bookworm is really coming into form with a reorg of the back room, a refresh of the washrooms and more to come. Already excited for next month's soirée.

But enough of that, here's Podcast 013 for your enjoyment!

Ninjatune celebrates 20 years with free weekly music downloads!

I can't believe its been 20 years since Matt Black and Jonathen Moore founded Ninjatune.  This single record label's international influence on the development of electronic music as we know it today cannot be understated and 20 years in business is indeed cause for celebration!

For the occasion I'll be spinning up a 20 year retrospective of the label soon and pulling out some dusty vinyl to throw into the mix with fresh digital dubplates from the label.

Our 24hr Radio Stream is live (and free!)

On Air

Some of you may remember that we started this project about a year ago with an online radio stream with hundreds of hours of amazing electronic music played somewhat randomly.  Since then we took the stream offline to relaunch it as Electronica FM (http://electronica.fm) - and highly recommend you listen to it [every day].

podcast 012: nathan lee's space disco live mix from june 25, 2010

Podcast 012.

Another unplanned set, being pushed and pulled onto the patio all night. Didn't spin uninterrupted for more than 45 minutes in a go all night.

So, 1:00a, no better time for some space disco.

podcast 011: nathan lee's june 126 melancholy mix

Another 126 Melancholy vocal mix. This one's focused on 2010 with the exception of an '07 Boat Club track that ends oh so similarly to Memory Tapes Bicycle from '09. Not sure what to make of that, so I'm opting to just enjoy them both.

Podcast 010: Abdul Smooth on a progressive tip

Podcast 010: Abdul Smooth on a progressive tip

This one hour + mix surveys some progressive tunes I've been spinning at the past couple People Downtown gigs at Tequila Bookworm to kick off the night.

Expect to hear some classics and new tracks reminiscent of the Dave Seaman/Rennaisance days - a range of 4/4 beats with sampled chants to full-on operatic female vocals.

This recording was made live > please excuse the couple empty minutes at the end :P

People Downtown's Tequila Monthly May Sundown Mix

Straight off the train from Montreal I jumped over to Tequila Bookworm to enjoy some Patio Friday sunny time before setting up for some early evening island jams. Once we lost the sun it was time to switch gears. My intention now is to explore the best of 2010 throughout the summer at our Tequila jams. Here's a selection of new vibes recorded live off the floor this past Friday May 28. Hope you enjoy!
